New cases of fraud detected in Telegram
New cases of fraud have been detected on the Telegram platform.
This is reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Electronic Security Service (ESS) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, platform users receive messages saying "Hi, your photos...", followed by suspicious links. When clicking on the link, the user is asked to select a country, enter a phone number and the received confirmation code.
This method is used to steal Telegram user accounts. Then similar fraud is repeated against other individuals through the stolen accounts.
"ESS urges citizens to exercise caution in such cases, not to click on suspicious links, not to share phone numbers and confirmation codes, and to activate two-factor authentication to ensure account security," the information emphasizes.
