Drunken brawl in Baku metro: offender gets 10 days of arrest

A man who entered the metro while intoxicated was detained in Baku.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Qaynarinfo, a protocol was drawn up against Y.R. (born 1978), a native of the Ujar district, under Article 535.1 (malicious disobedience to a lawful demand of a police officer or military serviceman while performing duties to protect public order) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was sent to court for consideration.

In court, Y.R. stated that he did not know that entering the metro while intoxicated was prohibited. The accused also admitted to using foul language because he was not himself.

He also stated that he regrets his actions. "I have two children, one is 16, the other is 18 years old. I ask the court to impose a fine on me," he appealed to the court.

By court decision, Y.R. was administratively arrested for 10 days.
