A criminal case has been initiated in Baku regarding the demolition of a house with people inside.
This was reported to Report in response to an inquiry to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, the construction company's foreman and the excavator driver have been detained.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) stated that a message was received on the "112" hotline that a person might have been trapped under the rubble as a result of a house demolition in the Yasamal district of Baku. MES rescuers immediately arrived at the scene.
"During the assessment of the operational situation, it was established that there was no one under the rubble," the ministry's statement said.
Earlier, footage appeared on social media showing the demolition of houses in the Birindzhi Alatava area, at 118B Abdulvahab Salamzade Street in the Yasamal district of Baku. According to eyewitnesses, the Melissa Group construction company began demolishing houses despite residents being inside. The demolition was carried out using excavators.
