14 years without the legendary captain

April 23 marks 14 years since the untimely death of the captain of the legendary KVN team "Guys from Baku," academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio (EATR), public figure, and deputy of the Milli Mejlis of the first, II and III convocations, Anar Mamedkhanov.
Anar Mamedkhanov was born on July 20, 1970, in Baku. He graduated from Baku secondary school No. 160, after which in 1987 he entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Azerbaijan State University. In 1988, he created the famous team "Guys from Baku," and from 1991 became the president of the Baku City KVN.
He was the youngest deputy in the history of Azerbaijan. He was elected to the Milli Mejlis (parliament) three times from the 1st Surakhani district No. 19 in 1995, 2000, and 2005 as an independent candidate.
Champion of the KVN Major League in 1992, finalist of the KVN Major League in 1993, winner of the KVN Summer Cup (1995), champion of the tournament of the 10 best teams of the 20th century (2000).
Anar Mamedkhanov died in Baku at the age of 41 due to heart problems. He is survived by a son and two daughters.
