Silk Way West Airlines received the ISO 14001 environmental certificate

Silk Way West Airlines received the ISO 14001 "Environmental Management System" (EMS) certificate from the British Standards Institute (BSI), which became an important milestone in the airline's journey towards increasing environmental responsibility.

The international certificate confirms the airline's commitment to reduce environmental impact by improving resource efficiency, controlling environmental pollution, and implementing eco-friendly principles.

"This achievement strengthens our business reputation and reflects our commitment to building strong, trusting relationships with customers, partners, and regulatory authorities," said Wolfgang Meier, President of Silk Way West Airlines.

The implementation of ISO 14001 strengthens Silk Way West Airlines' ability to meet regulatory requirements, improve operational efficiency, and implement a culture of sustainable development throughout the organization.

Building on this success, the airline plans to develop its environmental strategy by launching internal sustainability programs, organizing staff training, and obtaining additional certificates, such as ISO 50001 in energy management, as well as participating in international reporting systems such as GRI.

Founded in 2012 in Baku, at the heart of the Silk Road, Silk Way West Airlines operates hundreds of flights every month worldwide, using a fleet of Boeing 777F, 747-8F, and 747-400F aircraft based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Adhering to the principles of sustainable development and efficiency, Silk Way West Airlines plans to update its fleet with modern Boeing 777F, Boeing 777-8F, and Airbus A350F aircraft by 2030 to better meet the requirements of global logistics. The airline provides comprehensive cargo services to more than 40 destinations in Europe, CIS, the Middle East, Asia, and America, ensuring an annual cargo turnover of over 500 thousand tons.
