Zakir Hasanov: The Azerbaijani Army is one of the strongest armies in the region

The Azerbaijani army is one of the strongest armies in the region in terms of material and technical support, modern weaponry, technology, combat readiness, and professionalism of its personnel.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov at the graduation ceremony at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute.

According to him, the foundation of military development laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev:

"The words of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev 'Our army is our pride' are a proven truth. This is an indicator of our state's military power, an example of trust in the Azerbaijani army. In 2026, it will be 6 years since the Azerbaijani army's victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. This was a triumph not only of military superiority but also of our national unity, our statehood, the political will of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and the professionalism of our army."

The minister added that every graduating cadet today must be a leader in their field, regardless of the place of service:

"You will become future chiefs and commanders. Graduates of the military medicine faculty are not only professional military doctors but also selfless officers who stand guard over the life of every soldier. I would also like to particularly note the contribution of the Turkish Armed Forces to the training of highly qualified officer personnel. I express my gratitude to them for this. Today, among the graduates, there are cadets who came from friendly partner countries - Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. They will not only apply the knowledge and skills acquired here in their countries but will also contribute to the further strengthening of friendship between our countries."
