Viktor Yushchenko visited the Alley of Martyrs and honored the memory of a Ukrainian pilot in Baku
Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, as part of his visit to Baku, in addition to meetings with the country's top leadership, also visited a number of historical and cultural sites in the capital.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced on social media by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Yurii Husiev.
Yushchenko laid flowers and paid tribute to the memory of Ukrainian pilot and National Hero of Azerbaijan Viktor Seregin, who was killed in 1992 during the First Karabakh War. The former Ukrainian president also visited the Alley of Martyrs.
In addition, Yushchenko visited the museum ship "Surakhany," where he explored the Ukrainian audio and video heritage prepared as part of an initiative by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
The ex-president also took part in the opening of the photo exhibition "War Through the Lens" at the Ukrainian Center in Baku. The exhibition was organized jointly with the Union of Photographers of Azerbaijan.
The publication also notes that in 2022, Azerbaijani photographers Famil Mahmudbeyli and Aziz Kerimov visited Ukraine, where they documented the consequences of full-scale Russian aggression and the lives of Ukrainians during the war.
