Today Sugovushan and a number of other territories have been liberated from occupation

October 3, 2020 - the seventh day of the Patriotic War, which led us to the liberation of our lands. The glorious Azerbaijani army continues to decisively advance forward to liberate ancestral Azerbaijani lands from occupation.

As Oxu.Az reminds us, the enemy, having suffered a serious defeat on the battlefield, as in the first days, on the seventh day of the war also transfers the confrontation beyond the front line zone, targeting civilians and civil infrastructure. The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are subjecting the city of Terter, the villages of Shahlabad, Gazyan, Gapanli, Gaynag, Askipara, Gusanli, the villages of Ayag Garvend, Imamgulubeyli, Garadagli, Tezekend of Agdam district, the villages of Muganli, Giyameddinli, Ranjbarlar of Agdam district and the village of Tapgaragoyunlu of Geranboy district to intense artillery fire.

During the shelling of settlements in Terter district by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, two residents of Gapanli village, Vasif Guliyev (born 1984) and Parviz Guliyev (born 1985), were injured.

As a result of another shelling by the Armenian armed forces of civilian homes in different directions of Beylagan city with heavy artillery, local residents Zulfiya Ismayilova (born 1976) and her sister Arzu Asadova (born 1998) died under the rubble due to multiple artillery shells hitting their home. Also, local residents Etibar Balakishiyev (born 1982) and Sevda Bashirova (born 1969) received injuries of varying severity from fragments of artillery shells that fell in different parts of the city and were hospitalized. Numerous residential homes suffered significant damage.

Despite all this, on the seventh day of the war, the Azerbaijani army writes a new history in the struggle for the liberation of our lands from occupation. Thus, on this day, several territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan were liberated from occupation. President Ilham Aliyev announces on his social media page on X (then Twitter - ed.) that the Azerbaijani army liberated Sugovushan from occupation and the Azerbaijani flag was raised in these territories. Also, by decision of the head of state, the historical name of Sugovushan - Sugovushan was restored. During the day, the Azerbaijani army also completely liberated from occupation the villages of Talish in Terter district, Mehdili, Chakhirli, Ashagi Maralyan, Sheybey and Guyjag in Jabrayil district, as well as the village of Ashagi Abdurrahmanli in Fuzuli district.

According to information from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the battles in the direction of Sugovushan-Agdere, four tanks of the enemy's 77th tank battalion were destroyed and three were taken as military trophies. As a result of artillery fire by our army on the 5th mountain rifle regiment located in the Agdere direction, four vehicles of the regiment were destroyed.

Naturally, the superiority of the Azerbaijani army on the seventh day of the war and the liberation of our territories from occupation indicated that our flag would soon be flying over all our lands.
