The official opening ceremony of the ISESCO regional office was held in Baku

On April 29, the official opening ceremony of the ICESCO regional office in Azerbaijan took place in Baku on the territory of the "Icherisheher" State Historical and Architectural Reserve.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, the event was attended by the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and the head of Baku Media Center Arzu Aliyeva.

The event was also attended by the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Alakbarov, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, ICESCO Director General Salim bin Muhammad al-Malik, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Isa Habibbeyli, ambassadors of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova, as well as ambassadors of other countries accredited in Azerbaijan and socio-political figures of Azerbaijan.

The head of the ICESCO Baku office, Abdulhakim Alsenan, expressed gratitude to all participants of this historically significant event.

Speaking at the event, ICESCO Director General Salim bin Muhammad al-Malik stated: "Today we have gathered here to celebrate the opening of the new ICESCO regional office - the embodiment of our long-standing dream. This is a dream of building connections, cooperation and a future based on wisdom, knowledge and common goals. We are present at the opening of the regional office in Baku - a place where civilizations have intersected for centuries, a cradle of peace - which will become a center that harmoniously unites education, science, culture, communications, modernity and traditions."

In his speech, Salim bin Muhammad al-Malik noted that the new regional office will cover Azerbaijan and the Central Asian states - members of ICESCO, and will also contribute to the development of other countries in the region, promoting the spirit of cooperation and the pursuit of excellence.
