The European Union welcomes the meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia

The European Union expressed support for the meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, held on July 10 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
As BAKU.WS reports, this was stated to Report by the EU official representative for foreign policy and security policy Anita Hipper.
According to her, the EU strongly supports the process of normalizing relations between the two countries.
"Earlier, the European Union welcomed the completion of negotiations on the draft agreement on peace and the establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia in March 2025," Hipper noted, emphasizing that the current meeting is an important step towards establishing lasting peace and security in the region.
"We call on both sides to proceed with the signing and ratification of the draft peace agreement as soon as possible. The EU is ready to provide additional support and expertise if the parties so desire," she said.
Note that on July 10 in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, a meeting took place between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to discuss the peace agenda between the two countries. The parties agreed to continue bilateral negotiations and measures to build trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
