The 3rd meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent

On August 23, in Tashkent, with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the 3rd meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was held.

As reported by BAKU.WS, first a short film about the friendship, trade, and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was shown.

Then President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech.

After thanking President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the invitation to visit brotherly Uzbekistan, the hospitality, the kind attitude toward Azerbaijan and our people, as well as his personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the video shown before the beginning of the meeting very competently presented those projects that are currently in progress. Some of them have already been implemented, and some will be implemented. "But the main thing is that we have a concrete agenda for strengthening our cooperation. And I am confident that as the already defined projects are implemented, new ones will emerge, and this video presentation will take more time. Although in fact I was very pleasantly surprised by such a presentation, it incorporated exactly the main areas that unite us today," the head of state emphasized.

Highly appreciating the friendly relations between the two countries and the successes achieved by Uzbekistan, President Ilham Aliyev said: "First of all, I would also like to congratulate you, Shavkat Miromonovich, and all our brothers in Uzbekistan on the enormous successes in the development of the country, strengthening its potential both in the socio-economic sphere and on the international arena. Uzbekistan today is a state that has great international authority. And this is, first and foremost, your merit. You work tirelessly to develop the country, strengthen its potential, including the role of Uzbekistan on the international arena. And as you rightly noted, we in bilateral format, in all international organizations where we participate, always support each other. This happens automatically."

The head of state also thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his assessment of the positive processes taking place in the South Caucasus. He noted that as a result of ensuring peace in the South Caucasus, today this region can finally breathe freely and see the advantages of peaceful development.

Touching upon the potential of the joint Investment Fund, the President of Azerbaijan said: "I have been informed that out of 500 million, about 160 million have already been allocated. And naturally, I think we will quickly use this resource and will determine new areas of cooperation. I should also say that Azerbaijan has a similar format
