Pakistan is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of urban development.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated to Report by the Director of Architecture and Planning at the Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) Sameer Aftab Sial.

According to him, Pakistan is holding negotiations with Azerbaijani business representatives within the framework of developing joint projects.

"We are in negotiations with various groups in Azerbaijan to establish cooperation and present our projects, as well as to explore opportunities for collaboration," he said.

Sial noted that this involves mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of urban planning and real estate development.

According to him, the main focus of potential cooperation is related to Baku and projects in the capital region.

Speaking about WUF13, which is being held in Baku, Sial noted that participation in the forum opens up an opportunity to present Pakistani projects and establish new professional contacts.

Answering a question about Baku, he emphasized that the city made a positive impression on him as a modern and actively developing urban center.

Chief Operating Officer of the Ravi Urban Development Authority and the Central Business District Development Authority Mansoor Ahmed Janjua, in turn, said that Pakistan is interested in Azerbaijan's investments for urban development and is already holding negotiations with a number of companies.

According to him, contacts between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the field of urban planning and urbanism are already actively developing.

"At the delegation level, we are holding meetings aimed at expanding cooperation and developing interaction between the parties. Our Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is already here and has been holding meetings over the past few days, which also contributes to strengthening the dialogue between the countries," he said.

Janjua also emphasized that the Pakistani side is striving to sign a memorandum of understanding with representatives of Azerbaijan.

"A memorandum of understanding is the first step. This will be followed by detailed elaborations, including financial models, feasibility studies, and investment efficiency issues, so that cooperation becomes practical and result-oriented," he added.

Speaking about WUF13 and his stay in Baku, he noted the high level of organization of the forum: "The organization of the forum is impeccable. Baku made a very strong impression on me. It is a hospitable city, and the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan can be called truly brotherly."
