President: Today the independent Azerbaijani state is a place of hope for many Azerbaijanis living in Iran

The Iranian side has been repeatedly told, especially after last year's clashes, that the territory of Azerbaijan will not be used against any neighboring state. We will not allow this, just as we have never allowed it before.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at a meeting of the Security Council.

Recalling that last summer and in the subsequent period, unfounded accusations were made against us in Iran, coupled with a dirty smear campaign against Azerbaijan by media resources controlled by Iranian state bodies, in order to defame our country and change the opinion of our compatriots living in Iran, the head of state said: "Because they know perfectly well that today the independent Azerbaijani state is a place of hope for many Azerbaijanis living in Iran."
