On September 14, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of Garakhanbeyli village in Fuzuli district.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, Emin Huseynov, informed the head of state about the upcoming work.

It was noted that the new village will accommodate residents of the villages of Garakhanbeyli and Merdinli, which were destroyed during the Armenian occupation.

The project will be implemented in two stages. The first stage, which is scheduled to be completed next year, will be implemented on an area of about 87 hectares. At this stage, it is planned to resettle 404 families, a total of 1,861 people. 404 individual houses will be built in the area, 81 of them are two-room, 202 are three-room, 101 are four-room and 20 are five-room. It is planned to build social infrastructure facilities in the settlement, including administrative and service buildings, a school, a kindergarten, a medical center, to lay about 16 km of internal roads, as well as electricity, gas, water supply and sewerage lines.

The second stage, which will cover 2027-2030, will be implemented on an area of about 230 hectares. During this period, it is planned to resettle 1,075 families - a total of 4,093 people. 771 individual houses with two, three, four and five rooms and two-to-three-story residential buildings will be built. The second stage also includes the construction of a school and two kindergartens. The population and number of houses are determined taking into account the development of the village for a twenty-year perspective.
