President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev

22 years have passed since the death of the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, world-renowned political figure, national leader of our people Heydar Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, on December 12, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva visited the grave of the National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the grave of the Great Leader.

The national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Head of State Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva also paid tribute to the memory of the life companion of the Great Leader, outstanding ophthalmologist scientist, academician Zarifa Khanum Aliyeva, and laid flowers at her grave.

Tribute was also paid to the memory of prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev, with flowers laid at their graves.
