Official Baku condemned the burning of the Turkish flag in Armenia
We strongly condemn the burning of the Turkish flag during the "torchlight procession" on April 23 in Armenia's capital Yerevan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a declaration by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It is noted that the government of the Republic of Armenia should have promptly prevented such a campaign, which is a manifestation of hatred rooted in ethnic grounds, and should have taken appropriate security measures.
"Turning a blind eye to such unacceptable acts by citing democratic norms, freedom of assembly, and freedom of opinion is absolutely inadmissible.
Such acts, which are an open manifestation of the revanchist and ethnically motivated fascist mentality still strong in Armenia, must be condemned and suppressed at the international level.
We call on the government of Armenia to hold accountable the individuals who committed these actions," the statement reads.
