Armenia attaches great importance to the regional platform "3+3" (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia - Russia, Turkey, Iran), and a dialogue is being conducted with Azerbaijan to determine the capital for holding the next meeting in this format.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, this was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in a conversation with journalists, regarding the activities of the "3+3" format.

"Regarding the '3+3' format, we have already had occasions to talk about how we attach importance to this format. In general, we talk about European integration, we are part of the Eurasian Economic Union, but relations with our neighbors are no less important to us. Certainly, the '3+3' format from this point of view remains important for us," said the minister.

Regarding the next meeting in this format, he stated that the issue is of a technical nature. Mirzoyan recalled that after holding meetings in the capitals of the other member countries of this regional platform, the question arose of holding the event either in Armenia or in Azerbaijan.

"We are now discussing with Azerbaijan the sequence of meetings. Naturally, as soon as the issue concerns us and Azerbaijan, everything is examined under a microscope and, whether we want it or not, is linked to the issue of Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization. I hope that in the foreseeable future a solution will be found," noted the Armenian Foreign Minister.

The initiative for a six-party cooperation format for the South Caucasus was put forward at the end of 2020 by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev and Tayyip Erdogan. Russia and Iran welcomed this idea, Armenia also joined the format participants. Georgia stated that it does not plan to participate in the initiative.
