Masoud Pezeshkian: ECO countries should aim to create a Free Trade Zone
Member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) should strive to create a Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the 17th ECO Summit.
According to him, it is necessary to review and implement the Trade Agreement between ECO member countries and start free trade negotiations as soon as possible.
Pezeshkian noted that landlocked ECO countries should have cheaper, shorter, and easier access to open seas and world markets: "Iran and other transit countries play an important role in this matter. New advantages and benefits at ports and entry-exit points for ECO countries can be considered. A network of logistics hubs for ECO member countries at ports and border points should be established and equipped in accordance with the highest international standards."
