Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva visited the STEAM center operating at the Ganja Lyceum with in-depth study of physics, mathematics and informatics and secondary school number 37 in the city of Ganja.

As reported by BAKU.WS, during the tour of the center, it was informed that the STEAM project (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) has been widely implemented in Azerbaijani schools at the initiative of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.

It was noted that the STEAM center has been functioning since 2021 as part of the lyceum. The center is designed for all age groups. The following directions operate here: Robotics, Art, Science, STEAM Kids, CNC and 3D printing, mechatronics and drones.

It was brought to attention that the opportunities created at the Center are used not only by the mentioned educational institution, but also by students and teachers from other schools in the region. Each academic year, over 1,000 students participate in training at the Center in various modules.

It should be noted that the main goal of the STEAM project, the implementation of which began in 2019, is to develop students' critical and creative thinking skills, collaboration and other competencies, create conditions for learning through the creative process, as well as unite subjects not in a fragmented manner, but within a unified learning model based on their application in the real world.

Then Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva familiarized themselves with the conditions created at secondary school number 37 in the city of Ganja, which was completely renovated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

It was noted that the building of secondary school number 37 in the Kapaz district of Ganja, built in 1969, had become outdated and fallen into a state unsuitable for use over the years. In November 2024, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation began the complete renovation of the school, designed for 724 students.

The educational institution consists of one three-story building and three two-story buildings. The school is fully equipped with necessary furniture and equipment, subject classrooms and laboratories are provided with visual aids.

The school building contains classrooms, physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, informatics rooms, military training room, medical room, music room, library, cafeteria, assembly hall and gymnasium, as well as an outdoor sports ground.

Landscaping and greening works were carried out on the adjacent territory of the educational institution, asphalt pavement was laid, decorative shrubs and trees were planted.

During the visit, bicycles as well as safety equipment were presented to 50 children of various age groups. The main goal of the social campaign, conducted with the support of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, is to create conditions for children living in the regions to spend their leisure time more effectively, increase their interest in sports and a healthy lifestyle, encourage students to engage in physical activity, as well as promote the use of bicycles as an environmentally friendly means of transportation.
