Iran's ambassador evaded answering a number of questions from Baku TV
During an interview with Baku TV, Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mujtaba Demirchilu evaded answering a number of questions.
Journalist Turan Ibragimov informed the diplomat that the Azerbaijani public is seriously interested in the issue of strikes carried out against Nakhchivan. Recalling the information disseminated by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, he noted that the strikes were reportedly carried out by Arash‑2 type drones. The journalist added that drones of this type are used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The host also emphasized that Arash drones are considered more effective in close-range attacks, and according to available information, they entered Azerbaijani territory from the Iranian side.
The ambassador, in turn, stated that he is not a military person and refrained from commenting on military and technical issues.
"My mission is clear. When a problem arises between two countries, I try to resolve it as quickly as possible. You say Arash, however, according to the information I received from the Azerbaijani side, these were Shahed drones," M. Demirchilu said.
Noting that there are allegedly certain doubts surrounding the drone attack on Nakhchivan, the diplomat evaded giving a direct answer to the question.
