Ilham Aliyev: We hope that Trump's historic efforts will be duly recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize

President Donald Trump played a historic role in advancing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the Washington Peace Summit organized by him on August 8, 2025.

As reported by BAKU.WS, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev wrote about this on his X page.

"In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the peace process, Azerbaijan and Armenia, on my initiative, have jointly nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

We sincerely hope that President Trump's historic efforts to establish lasting peace in our region will receive due recognition in the awarding of this year's Nobel Peace Prize," the head of state noted.
