Ilham Aliyev: The people of Azerbaijan understand the value of peace and reconciliation all too well
The message of peace and reconciliation emanating from the history of Guernica holds profound significance for all nations. The memories and experiences of peoples who have endured the severe consequences of war should serve as an important lesson for new generations, enabling them to live in a more stable and secure world.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev in an address to the participants of the "Guernica Peace and Reconciliation Award" ceremony.
"The people of Azerbaijan, having experienced the severe consequences of war and lived in conditions of conflict for nearly thirty years, understand the value of peace and reconciliation all too well. Today, Azerbaijan is learning to live in an atmosphere of peace. For us, this is a new and unusual feeling, as we have not had the opportunity to experience it since gaining independence," the head of state noted.
