On June 1, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Caleb Orr.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the head of state thanked Caleb Orr for participating in the official opening ceremony of the exhibitions held within the framework of the Baku Energy Week and the Baku Energy Forum.
Noting with satisfaction that U.S. President Donald Trump had sent a message to the event, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that this approach and partnership are highly valued, and expressed his gratitude to the head of the American state in this regard.
Noting that bilateral relations have been developing successfully in recent times, the head of state highlighted the significance of the Charter on Strategic Partnership signed between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the establishment of working groups based on it for the development of cooperation in various areas. He emphasized that the first session of the Azerbaijan-U.S. economic dialogue would take place. In this connection, it was noted that the visit of the delegation headed by Caleb Orr to our country provided a good opportunity to discuss cooperation prospects.
The head of state also touched upon the importance of documents signed within the framework of the Baku Energy Week.
Caleb Orr conveyed greetings from U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Donald Trump and Marco Rubio as well.
The guest emphasized that Donald Trump's sending a message to the Baku Energy Week demonstrates how important it is for the United States of America.
Caleb Orr also noted that this event demonstrates the leadership role of President Ilham Aliyev in conducting discussions on the state of energy markets.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that the Baku Energy Week is a successful platform for exchanging views on global energy issues, as well as for discussing cooperation prospects among leading global energy companies, government agencies, investors, and industry specialists.
At the meeting, it was noted that as a result of the efforts of the heads of state of both countries, Azerbaijan-U.S. relations have entered a new stage of development.
During the conversation, issues of mutual interest were discussed.
