Ilham Aliyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov viewed in Shusha the busts of famous Azerbaijani figures that were shot during the occupation
On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov viewed the busts of prominent Azerbaijani figures — Natavan, Bülbül, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli — that were shot at during the occupation.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the President of Turkmenistan was informed that these busts were subjected to Armenian vandalism during the occupation and were taken to Armenia, where attempts were made to melt them down as scrap metal. Thanks to the intervention of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the monuments were saved and brought to Azerbaijan. These busts, which had been kept for some time in the courtyard of the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan in Baku, were returned to their original locations after the liberation of the city of Shusha from occupation.
