Azerbaijan calls on Armenian NGO representatives to more actively participate in resolving issues related to clarifying the fates of those who went missing during the first Karabakh war.

As Report conveys, this was stated by the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, speaking at Karabakh University before representatives of the diplomatic corps.

"There is still no information about the fate of approximately 4,000 citizens of Azerbaijan. During recent contacts with representatives of Armenian civil society, I also called on NGOs and civil institutions to join these efforts to shed light on the fates of people whose families have been waiting for news about their loved ones for over 30 years," he said.

Hajiyev noted that nevertheless, Azerbaijan will continue to ensure peace in the region, strengthen it, and achieve sustainable peace.

"We will reaffirm our commitment to regional responsibility, cooperation, and interaction, working both bilaterally with Armenia and with other neighbors, based on the principle of building peaceful relations with all countries of the region," he said.
