Hikmet Hajiyev: Opening of the Zangezur corridor will expand the capabilities of the Middle Corridor

China and Azerbaijan develop close cooperation.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to APA, this was stated to journalists by the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev.

According to him, China provides technological accessibility for the countries of the Global South. Hikmet Hajiyev noted that trade turnover between the two countries increased by 40%, and this is not the limit.

"Azerbaijan and China will continue further development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Currently, this cooperation also covers the areas of artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital transformation," added the diplomat.

Regarding the potential of the Middle Corridor, the Presidential Assistant emphasized that cooperation between China and Azerbaijan will allow more effective use of this corridor. According to him, the opening of the corridor through Zangezur, envisaged in the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, will also expand the capabilities of the Middle Corridor.
