Fake statements have been distributed on behalf of a number of Azerbaijani statesmen

In some social media accounts, fictional statements prepared using DeepFake technology have been distributed on behalf of several Azerbaijani government officials.
As reported by the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MEDİA), the series of fake videos generated using artificial intelligence and distributed in the information space by certain circles is a gross example of manipulation aimed at misinforming the public.
"We urge the public to believe only information provided by official sources. We remind that information expressing the official position of the state can be obtained from official sources, as well as from news agencies and other professional media entities of the country. We call on citizens of Azerbaijan, and in particular journalists and public activists, to always show principled positions in such cases, as well as to be vigilant in conditions where large-scale campaigns based on fake information are being spread," the agency's statement notes.
