Defense Ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran Met in Baku
Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with a delegation visiting Azerbaijan headed by Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Ministry of Defense of AR.
First, the guests visited the Alley of Martyrs, laying flowers at the graves of our compatriots who gave their lives for the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and a wreath at the "Eternal Flame" memorial.
During the official welcoming ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense, after passing before the honor guard, the State Anthems of Azerbaijan and IRI were played, and in accordance with protocol, a commemorative entry was made in the "Book of Honorary Guests".
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have a centuries-old history, emphasizing that mutual visits and joint exercises contribute to further deepening of these ties.
Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh noted that cooperation between the two countries, built on friendly and fraternal relations, is important for further development in the military sphere.
At the meeting, the current state of relations in the military, military-technical, military education and science spheres, as well as development prospects were discussed.
The parties also held a detailed exchange of views on regional security issues and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
