In the "Baku Call to Action," adopted following the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), special gratitude was expressed to the government of Azerbaijan for hosting the largest and one of the most innovative forums in WUF history.

As reported by Oxu.Az, the document emphasizes that the "Baku Call to Action" was the result of months of work and extensive consultations with stakeholders conducted in the lead-up to WUF13.

The authors of the document noted the progress achieved and called for making such practices standard for the entire WUF cycle - with consultations conducted both before and after the forum, supported by a structured engagement mechanism with all stakeholders to ensure continuity and accountability.

"We express our sincere gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan for hosting the groundbreaking WUF13 with the participation of more than 58 thousand people from 176 countries, making it the largest WUF forum to date," the document states.

It is noted that for the first time in history, at the initiative of the host country, 27 heads of state and government participated in the Leaders' Statement Summit.

In addition, more than one hundred ministers, the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, and other high-ranking representatives took part in the event.

Among the key innovations of WUF13, the document highlights the Baku City Award, the Business and Innovation Center, the WUF Academy Campus, and the Practitioners Hub.
