Azerbaijan celebrates the Day of Restoration of Independence

Today is the Day of Restoration of State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan (RA).

On October 18, 1991, the Supreme Council of Azerbaijan adopted the Constitutional Act on the state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Constitutional Act is based on the Declaration of Independence, adopted by the National Council of Azerbaijan on May 28, 1918, and the Declaration of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 30, 1991, "On the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and establishes that the Republic of Azerbaijan is the successor of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

This year, October 18 marks the 34th anniversary of the restoration of independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In May 1992, the National Anthem of the country was adopted (music by Uzeyir Hajibeyov, lyrics by Ahmed Javad), and before that - the tricolor flag and the state emblem depicting flames and an eight-pointed star.

Today, Azerbaijan, as an independent state, independently determines its foreign policy, and our country is positively evaluated at authoritative forums.

Azerbaijan has further strengthened its significance after the decisive victory over Armenia in the 44-day Patriotic War.

Today, world powers perceive Azerbaijan as a country creating new realities, and they take it into account on energy and security issues.
