Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed cooperation in the judicial and legal sphere

A meeting was held at the Constitutional Court with a delegation headed by Pakistan's Minister of State for Law and Justice Aqeel Malik.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev, welcoming the guests, noted that the strategic partnership and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on mutual trust. He noted that Pakistan was one of the first to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, and today both countries support each other on international platforms.

Abdullayev also spoke about the court's activities, decision-making procedures, the role of courts in protecting human rights and freedoms, and emphasized the importance of developing professional dialogue and exchange of experience between constitutional courts.

In turn, Aqeel Malik stated the need to expand cooperation in the judicial and legal sphere, highly appreciated the legal reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, and expressed confidence that mutual visits and exchange of experience would contribute to strengthening cooperation.

The parties also discussed modern legal approaches in judicial practice, human rights protection, digitalization, the application of artificial intelligence in the judicial system, and prospects for international legal cooperation.
