Anar Guliyev: Hosting WUF13 in Baku is an indicator of the high trust of the international community
Hosting the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku is a landmark event not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire global community.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev at a press conference dedicated to the opening ceremony of WUF13 in Baku.
The head of the agency emphasized the unique status of the event, capable of bringing together a wide variety of parties on a single platform.
"Since 2021, Azerbaijan has been actively organizing national urban planning forums, which have become the most important domestic platform for dialogue on sustainable development. These events bring together key partners to model the future of our cities and settlements. They have helped us strengthen coordination within the country, clearly set priorities, exchange best practices, and fully synchronize our state policy with the principles of the New Urban Agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Goals," Anar Guliyev noted.
The Chairman of the State Committee added that the right to host such a large-scale event as the World Urban Forum places enormous responsibility on the country.
"Hosting WUF13 in Baku is a direct testament to the high level of trust placed in Azerbaijan by the international community and UN-Habitat. We deeply value this strategic partnership, which made holding the forum possible. Our cooperation is based on fundamental shared values: sustainability, inclusiveness, resilience to global challenges, and a firm conviction that modern cities must first and foremost serve the people," Anar Guliyev concluded.
