Ana Cristina Tinca: Azerbaijan is one of the key countries of the South Caucasus
Azerbaijan is located at the crossroads of civilizations and occupies a key geostrategic position in the South Caucasus.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Report, this was stated by State Secretary for Strategic Affairs - Deputy Foreign Minister of Romania Ana Cristina Tinca at an event in Bucharest dedicated to May 28 - Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
Recalling that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the deputy minister expressed hope that the agreement on the Black Sea-Caspian multimodal transport corridor will be signed as soon as possible.
"The South Caucasus is a region of growing importance in the current international context, and Azerbaijan is the most important state in this region," said A. Tinca.
She welcomed the initialing in 2025 of the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, stating that the signing of the peace treaty will contribute to the full utilization of the region's potential. The deputy minister also noted that Romania supports the deepening of cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan.
