Amirbekov: Discussion of the draft agreement text on normalization of relations with Armenia has been completed

Discussions on the draft peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been completed.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan, Elchin Amirbekov, in an interview with Mundo Internacional magazine during his working visit to Mexico.
Speaking about the peace process with Armenia, Amirbekov emphasized that after a 30-year conflict, a historic opportunity has emerged to establish lasting and irreversible peace in the South Caucasus. At the same time, he mentioned obstacles preventing the signing of the agreement. Among them are the presence of territorial claims against Azerbaijan in Armenia's constitution, which contradicts the content and spirit of the peace treaty, as well as the need to abolish structures that have lost their significance, such as the Minsk Group.
In the interview, he also noted the importance of Azerbaijan's relations with Latin American countries, calling Mexico an important partner. According to him, the visit aims to strengthen the existing political dialogue between the two countries.
It was emphasized that there are broad opportunities for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Mexico in areas such as economy, trade, energy, culture, tourism, education, science, sports, and agriculture. Against the background of exemplary inter-parliamentary ties, cooperation between friendship groups in the legislative bodies of both countries is actively developing.
