3,505 people have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan since the end of February
In the period from 08:00 on February 28 to 10:00 on April 13, 3,505 people were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, 613 of the evacuees are citizens of Azerbaijan.
Among the evacuees are citizens of China (736 people), Russia (374), India (294), Bangladesh (198), Tajikistan (194), Pakistan (152), Iran (136), Oman (84), Indonesia (116), Algeria (57), Italy (46), Germany (30), Canada (27), Spain (26), France (25), Georgia (21), Saudi Arabia and Japan (18 each), Uzbekistan and the USA (17 each), Bahrain (16), Poland and Switzerland (14 each), Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Belarus (13 each), Hungary (12), Mexico (11), the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (10 each), Brazil (9), Sudan, Venezuela (8 each), Finland, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Australia, the UAE (6 each).
Also evacuated were five citizens each of Turkey, Serbia, Sweden, Afghanistan, Austria, Greece, Vietnam, four citizens each of Jordan, the Philippines, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, the Netherlands, three citizens each of Qatar, Croatia, Denmark, Norway, two citizens each of Nepal, Lebanon, Yemen, Myanmar, Cyprus, Egypt, Slovenia, Uruguay.
In addition, one citizen each of Tunisia, the Republic of South Africa, the Maldives, Cuba, the Vatican, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Belize, and the Dominican Republic were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.
As a reminder, on February 28, the USA and Israel launched a military operation against Iran and carried out airstrikes on a number of cities. On the same day, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes. In response, Iran launched missile strikes on the territory of Israel and attacked American military bases in the Persian Gulf countries.
Iran, the USA, and their allies reached a two-week ceasefire agreement on the night of April 8, 2026.
