Heavy rains expected in Azerbaijan - Warning

In Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, intermittent rains are expected from midday on October 9 until the evening of October 10.

According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, in some places the rains will be heavy, with thunderstorms expected. There is a probability that from the evening of October 9 until the morning of October 10, the precipitation will be intense.

In the regions of Azerbaijan, unstable weather with occasional precipitation is expected from midday on October 9 until the evening of October 10. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, hail, and snow in mountainous regions are forecast in some areas. During the daytime on October 10, a brief intensification of precipitation is possible in some eastern regions.

Due to the expected precipitation, a rise in water levels in rivers is forecast. Floods and mudflows cannot be ruled out on some rivers of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, the Lankaran-Astara region, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
