As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Vugar Bayramov, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.
Compared to the same period last year, the indicator increased by 3.7%.
The main share of household expenditures was spent on food products. During the reporting period, 8 billion 774 million manats were spent on food products, beverages and tobacco products, while 7 billion 152 million manats were spent on non-food goods. Thus, about 55% of all expenditures are specifically food purchases.
In the first quarter of the current year, spending on food products increased by 1.3%, while spending on non-food goods rose by 6.6%.
The highest growth was recorded in specific categories. In particular, spending on computers, telecommunications equipment and printed materials increased by 32.6%. Spending on pharmaceutical products and medical devices also grew significantly - by 25.4%. The increase in spending on medications is attributed to both rising demand and price increases.
