The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and San Marino discussed prospective cooperation opportunities in the areas of natural gas supply, renewable energy, and decarbonization.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to SOCAR, the discussions took place during a meeting between the company's president Rovshan Najaf and San Marino's Minister of Finance and Budget, Transport and Energy Marco Gatti, and Secretary of State (Minister) for Labor, Economic Programming, Relations with the Autonomous Institution of Public Services (AASS), Ecological Transition and Technological Innovation Alessandro Bevitori.

During the meeting, the growing role of Azerbaijan in ensuring Europe's energy security was noted, particularly the significance of the Southern Gas Corridor. It was reported that today Azerbaijan's natural gas is exported to 16 countries.

The guests were also provided with detailed information about SOCAR's "green energy" agenda and the areas of activity of SOCAR Green.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on various areas of the energy sector, as well as on other issues of mutual interest.
