SOCAR and Itochu discussed exploration and development of oil fields

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) held discussions with Japanese corporation Itochu on issues of exploration and development of oil fields, renewable energy projects, and implementation of advanced technological innovations in industry.
The discussions took place at a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and the Chairman of the Japan-Azerbaijan Economic Committee and Chief Operating Officer of Itochu Corporation, Tetsuya Yamada.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that effective connections have been established between SOCAR and Itochu Corporation over the past years. In this context, the successful partnership in energy projects of regional and global significance implemented on Azerbaijan's initiative, as well as in the petrochemical sector, was noted with satisfaction.
During the conversation, issues of preparation for the next meeting of the State Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan were discussed, and opinions were exchanged on expanding cooperation in various areas of the energy sector and other matters of mutual interest.
