Development of SOCAR Methane AI attracted the attention of the company's regional partners

Regional partners are showing interest in the application of the AI-based methane monitoring solution developed by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

As Report informs, this was stated by the head of SOCAR's Environmental Disclosure and Green Initiatives Department, Mustafa Gurbanli, during a panel discussion at the Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026).

M. Gurbanli noted that SOCAR has integrated artificial intelligence technologies into its corporate decarbonization program.

"In particular, SOCAR specialists have developed their own Methane AI software aimed at tracking and reducing methane emissions. The Methane AI system makes it possible to upload data to identify emission priorities and forecast potential risks. This is our own development, which we have already demonstrated to regional partners. The product has generated significant interest, and we are currently working on its further development and organizing joint application with colleagues from the region," emphasized the head of the State Oil Company's department.
