Consumers received 124.6 million manats as part of VAT refunds

In January-August of this year, consumers in Azerbaijan received 124 million 658.4 thousand manats back from the value-added tax (VAT) paid for purchased goods and services.
BAKU.WS reports this with reference to the State Tax Service.
The partial VAT refund was paid through authorized banks for goods purchased in retail trade and public catering (excluding petroleum products, automobiles, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products), services in the field of theatrical performances, film screenings, museum visits and symphony orchestra concerts, as well as for medical services provided by individuals and private medical institutions.
In addition, during the 8 months, foreign citizens were reimbursed 6 million 944.9 thousand manats of VAT under the tax free system for purchases made in Azerbaijan for personal use.
