The Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul, Turkey, will be headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference in Ankara.

According to him, out of respect for the presidents of the United States and Turkey, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and wishing to try to achieve the first steps toward de-escalation, Ukraine is sending a delegation to Istanbul.

Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian delegation intends to discuss a ceasefire.
