Why did the USA intervene in the conflict between Israel and Iran?

Recent statements indicate that a preliminary agreement has been reached, however, this does not provide grounds to speak about the cessation of military operations.

This was stated by Middle East expert Vugar Ziferoglu, commenting on the latest situation regarding the Israeli-Iranian conflict.

He noted that negotiations are continuing and within a few hours it will become clear whether a ceasefire will be concluded. The expert also clarified the reason for US intervention in this conflict.

"The goal of the US in striking Iran was to demonstrate support for Israel. According to analysts, the reason why the US took this step was to fulfill previously made commitments and get rid of this burden," said V. Ziferoglu
