Urgant commented on his disappearance for the first time

For the first time in three years, Ivan Urgant indirectly confirmed that it was the publication of a black square on Instagram in 2022 that caused his disappearance from broadcasts. At a recent concert in Israel, the 47-year-old TV host played on this situation in an ironic song, performing a parody of Alla Pugacheva's hit "Million Scarlet Roses".
"There once lived a host, he was successful and rich. But one day he posted a small black square on the network. He then sold his house, sold everything that was in that house, and with all the money bought dollars at a rate of 106," Urgant sang from the stage, drawing applause from the audience.
Recall that in February 2022, after the attack on Ukraine, Urgant posted an image of a black square on social media - as a sign of disagreement with what was happening. After this, his program "Evening Urgant" on Russia's Channel One was suspended, and concerts of his musical collective began to be canceled.
The host himself kept silent for a long time. He did not give official comments about his "disappearance." Recently, Urgant has been touring with the show "Live Urgant," styled after his previous program, but now in a stand-up format. His program takes place in neighboring countries and Europe. He also performs together with Vladimir Pozner, whose TV program has also disappeared from the air.
Despite periodic rumors about moving abroad, Urgant claims that he continues to live between two countries and returns to Russia. There is no talk yet about returning to Russian television.
