Trump stated that he will seek compensation from Iran for the deaths of U.S. military personnel

US President Donald Trump stated that he intends to seek compensation from Iran, including for the deaths of American military personnel.

"I see that representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are asking for compensation for the damage caused over the last five months of military conflict (which started because they will never have nuclear weapons), although this was not mentioned at any of our negotiations or meetings. But it's an interesting idea, because now I am also demanding compensation from Iran for all those killed and seriously wounded by roadside bombs and as a result of the many conflicts they are famous for, originally - under the leadership of General Qasem Soleimani (commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force, killed by the Americans in 2020 - editor's note), including to the families of those who died on [the American destroyer] USS Cole and thousands of others who died in combat," the American leader wrote on Truth Social.

According to his version, the US also considers it necessary for the Iranian leadership to provide compensation to the families of participants in protests in the republic over the last 50 years. "I have instructed my representatives to firmly state this at all and any future negotiations," Trump said.
