US President Donald Trump expressed his intention to address the conflict between Saudi Arabia and separatists in Yemen.

As reported by Oxu.Az, the American leader stated this in an interview with the British newspaper The Daily Mail.

"I think this is another war that we will have to deal with. We'll give it number nine," he said.

Earlier, Trump claimed that since his return to the White House, the US had allegedly stopped eight wars.

The situation in Yemen escalated in early December 2025 after separatists from the Southern Transitional Council (STC), supported by the UAE, established control over the eastern provinces of Hadramaut and Al-Mahrah. In response, the republic's authorities annulled the joint defense agreement with the UAE and requested military assistance from the coalition led by Saudi Arabia.

According to media sources close to the separatists, the kingdom's air force launched a series of strikes on STC positions. In January, part of the STC leadership that arrived in Riyadh for negotiations announced the dissolution of the organization. Supporters of STC leader Aidarus al-Zubaydi, who according to the Arabian coalition fled to the UAE, rejected the decision to dissolve the council. On January 11, Yemen's authorities announced that government forces had restored control over the southern and eastern provinces, including the temporary capital Aden.
