Trump: American helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz was shot down by Iran
The US will respond to Iran for shooting down a military helicopter that was conducting a patrol in the Strait of Hormuz.
American President Donald Trump announced this on his social network TruthSocial.
"I have just been informed by our magnificent military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our high-tech Apache helicopters while on patrol over the Strait of Hormuz," he wrote.
The American leader clarified that both pilots were unharmed and are currently safe.
"Nevertheless, the United States is compelled, out of necessity, to respond to this attack," the head of state concluded.
