The Government of Kazakhstan has resigned its powers in connection with the beginning of the work of the country's new unicameral parliament (Kurultai). Members of the government will continue to fulfill their duties until a new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers is approved.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this follows from a decree by the President of the Republic, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

According to the decree, the government is required to resign its powers before the new composition of the Kurultai in accordance with Article 69 of the country's Constitution. "I decree: the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall fulfill its duties until the approval of the new composition of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the document states.

The decree entered into force on the day of its signing. Earlier, Tokayev also announced some changes in the composition of the government.
