TikToker Brittany Miller admitted that she pretended to be a cancer patient for years to escape loneliness.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the woman's story was published by Metro.

The 29-year-old Miller has 3.5 million subscribers, and in her blog she talks about everyday life with her twin children, fashion sales, and delicious food. In 2020, the girl was convicted of fraud after lying about having stage three stomach cancer.

According to Miller, the idea to simulate cancer came to her in 2017 because she had "extremely poor mental health," the girl was depressed, had lost her partner and job, and was afraid of loneliness. Then she told a friend about supposedly discovered cancer.

"I didn't do it with malicious intent or to deceive people. I did it out of desperation and to keep my loved ones close. I'm not justifying my actions and I don't know why I did it. But I have learned from my mistakes," the girl assures.

The blogger also assured that she did not participate in financial scams. When a crowdfunding page was created in her support, Brittany refused the money.

"As soon as I saw that donations had come in - there were two of them - I immediately closed the page and didn't take a penny," she says.

Now, Brittany Miller claims, she is "working on becoming a better version of herself."

"It took me a long time to understand why I did it, and I forgive myself because I was mentally ill. I deeply apologize to everyone who was upset by my words. This was many years ago. I didn't do it for likes or subscribers. I know how terrible this disease is and how much it cripples people. That's why I'm very, very sorry," Miller concluded.
