The United States is ceasing strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen
US President Donald Trump announced that his country is stopping strikes on positions of Houthi rebels from the Yemeni movement "Ansar Allah".
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, Trump said this at a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House.
"The Houthis have stated, at least to us, that they no longer want to fight. They don't want to fight, and we respect that. We will stop the bombing. They have surrendered," Trump said. "We are immediately stopping the bombing of the Houthis," he emphasized, explaining that the rebels in turn allegedly promised not to attack ships in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait anymore.
